Mozart city Salzburg
The festival city of Salzburg, also the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, is located only 20 km from Berchtesgaden and is worth a visit in all seasons. Above the city towers its landmark, the Hohensalzburg Fortress. One of the best-preserved medieval fortresses in all of Europe, its core dates back to the 11th century and was expanded by the bishops over the following centuries into a magnificent residence. For night owls, Salzburg offers the right setting and location for every taste.
